Islamic Relief Afghanistan Monthly Newsletter May 2018
Roshan is a 48-year-old widow living in Kabul with her four children. She is one of the 15,000 direct right holders in Islamic Relief Afghanistan’s SEHAT project (funded by Islamic Relief Canada).
Roshan got swelling in both her legs four years ago – a month later, a severe stabbing pain also started, for which she came to the SEHAT department. After screening by the SEHAT project, she was treated by specialist doctors. The doctors treated her by injecting medicines in her knees at 6 month intervals. But last year, Roshan’s lower limb became paralysed so doctors decided to operate on her.
After the surgery, Roshan can talk and the intensity of pain is also reduced.
